Wacker Neuson and the Spanish construction equipment rental company Axor signed a deal on June 10th, 2024, under the terms of which Wacker Neuson Vertrieb Deutschland GmbH is to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Axor’s German subsidiary in Düsseldorf/Monheim. The acquisition is set to be closed in the third quarter of 2024. From that point on, the Axor subsidiary in Düsseldorf/Monheim will be operated as a sales and service station by Wacker Neuson’s sales affiliate in Germany.
“We are excited at the prospect of strengthening our presence in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area. It means that we will be even closer to our customers in this region,” explains Axel Fischer, managing director of Wacker Neuson Germany. “Axor’s customer base in Germany can look forward to an even more extensive customer experience as they explore Wacker Neuson’s end-to-end service offering.”
Expansion of rail track construction business
As well as strengthening its foothold in the region, Wacker Neuson is also looking to expand its business in the rail track construction sector. Once the transaction has been completed, Wacker Neuson Germany intends to rename the Düsseldorf/Monheim company to Wacker Neuson Railway GmbH. It will focus on the rental and servicing of equipment for rail track construction and on expanding this business across Germany with a view to strengthening Wacker Neuson’s position in the market. As Axel Fischer explains: “We want to position our rail track business more strategically and expand across Germany. The establishment of Wacker Neuson Railway GmbH will be an important step in achieving this objective.”
Wacker Neuson’s German sales affiliate has a service network spanning around 60 company-owned sales and service stations, complemented by carefully selected sales partners to ensure it is close to customers across Germany. Customers can look forward to a one-stop service covering everything from consulting and sales of new and used equipment through rentals to maintenance and repairs.
