SAP builds on Wacker Neuson Concrete Technology

SAP, Europe’s biggest software manufacture for handling all business processes of a company, is merging four smaller locations with a new large building in Eschborn. Wacker Neuson provided consultation with its concrete specialists and was involved in the construction in Hesse with a special exposed concrete kit.

Eschborn in the Rhine-Main area is currently enjoying great growth in terms of infrastructure and skyline. With the SAP tower in the south, the city is gaining another highlight that can already easily be seen at a distance. Mayor Mathias Geiger is convinced of the positive effect of the construction measures on his city: “SAP greatly upgrades the entrance and entire area with its innovative building.”

The construction of the unusual building had some major challenges in the planning and implementation phase in the area of concrete compaction. To manage these tasks, the construction company W. Markgraf GmbH & Co. KG, a long-term customer of Wacker Neuson and a specialist in building construction, requested the help of the Wacker Neuson concrete expert Ralf Bauer.

Around 250 concrete columns with heights between 3.50 m and 7.50 m had to be made on site in consistently high exposed concrete quality. Individual compaction solutions with exact execution planning were required to ensure the necessary process reliability for the large number of columns.

Due to the sometimes strong reinforcement and the limited accessibility on the construction site, it quickly became apparent that using internal vibrators for concrete compaction is not practical. Concrete specialist Ralf Bauer therefore recommended using the Wacker Neuson exposed concrete kit, each with 6 external vibrators of the model AR 26/6/042, 6 fastening clamps of the model SV 53 and a frequency converter of the model FUE-M/S 75 A 6CEE-32A. The flexible solution with external vibrators and the matching easy-to-use fastening clamps were an ideal economical solution for the company Markgraf GmbH & Co. KG and brought about excellent results in the compaction process. Those involved in the project quickly realized: “The exposed concrete kit was the right choice for carrying out this demanding task.

The completely mirrored office tower with a roof terrace is 43 meters high and has eleven stories. 450 modern working areas, including parent-child offices, will be built on 9000 square meters. There will also be a cafeteria, two lounges, a fitness room and a playroom. A parking garage with 450 parking spaces is being built adjacent to the building. Wacker Neuson has provided significant support to the major project with the right products and the right advice.

Wacker Neuson was able to demonstrate its brand promise “All it takes!” with this project.
