Wacker Neuson provides support in the construction of the world’s first energy island
In the middle of the North Sea, around 45 kilometers off the Belgian coast, there is an ongoing project that is writing history: the “Princess Elisabeth Island”, the world’s first energy island. From 2030, it is set to serve as the central intersection for Europe’s sustainable energy supply. The six-hectare island is being erected on a total of 23 huge caissons, each measuring about 60 meters in length, 30 meters in width and 22 meters in height.
In order for this monumental construction to withstand the North Sea’s extreme conditions, reliable concrete compaction plays a crucial role. It is precisely here that Wacker Neuson comes into play.
